Check with your physician about the physical activity and exercise appropriate for you. Stay as physically active as you can. Exercise helps to prevent falls, especially activities that enhance balance and coordination.

Exercise can help strengthen bones and prevent falls, especially for those with osteoporosis. Weight-bearing exercises, done three to four times a week, are best for preventing osteoporosis.

Follow these additional tips to prevent weak bones:

·        Eat foods rich in calcium and vitamin D

·        Stop smoking

·        Limit alcohol intake
