LC Performing Arts Center

The Veterans Group’s mission is to provide an opportunity for fellowship, providing information to the members and surviving spouses about veterans benefits and the presenting of programs of military, historic and patriotic content.  There is an opportunity to participate in a 50/50 drawing at every meeting.  In addition to the monthly programs, the group coordinates with Pastoral Ministries Remembrance Services on Memorial and Veterans Day.

                 Did You Know...

Usually presented in triangle shapes close to their hearts, the American flags on display in front of each clubhouse represent a fallen family member of a resident that has served honorably in the US Miitary.  These residents have chosen to honor their loved one by allowing the Ann's Choice Veterans Club to fly the flag given to them at their loved one's funeral on Patriotic Holidays.  In doing so, they honor all of us and the many Veterans from Ann's Choice.

Thank you all for your service and sacrifice.

Message presented with each flag at the Veteran's burial

"On behalf of the President of the United States, the United States Military, and a grateful nation, please accept this flag as a symbol of our appreciation, for your loved one's honorable and faithful service."

COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Valet Services to assist in seating residents for all community programs held in the Chapel and Performing Arts Center, the placing of American Flags on the main roadways of the campus on all National Patriotic Holidays and contributing to community appeals.

MEMORIAL FLAGS (those that have been presented to the survivors of veteran's who have been residents of Ann's Choice) are now being displayed on flag display days in front of the club house (weather permitting) for the community in which the veteran lived.  Donation of these flags and donations to purchase the flag poles on which they are displayed are requested.  Contact Rudy Stroh, 215-443-5782.

On all Patriotic Holidays, flags are placed by our veterans along many of the streets and walkways of our campus.

RIDES TO THE VA CLINIC are provided by members of the Veterans Club.  To make a reservation, call Judy Wright at 215-674-2328.

Donations may also be made to the Memorial Fund which funds other Veterans memorial items such as the Memorial Plaque which contains the names of deceased veterans who have resided at Ann's Choice.  Contact the Group Treasurer, Rose Torgerson, 215-672-1416 to make donations to the Memorial Fund.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED for the Valet Services and to deploy and retrieve the Memorial Flags for flag display days.  Non-veterans are welcome to participate in deploying and retrieving the Memorial Flags.  Please contact Jerry Wright, 215-674-2328 to volunteer.

Veteran Discount Cards

All Bucks County veterans and active duty personnel are invited to visit the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds office on the second floor of the Bucks County Courthouse (55 E. Court St., Doylestown, PA 18901) between the hours of 7:45 am and 3:30 pm. By showing their original DD-214 discharge form (or having staff look it up if already filled in the Recorder of Deeds office), they will be able to receive a color photo identification card that will entitle them to special discounts at local businesses.  Periodically, an updated list of participating businesses is distributed to registered Veterans.

Plaques for our Veterans who have served and passed away.

There are sets of plaques in each cubhouse honoring those vets who lived here.
