Perfectly Frank: The Music Of Frank Sinatra
Come fly away with Dave DeLuca as he pays tribute to Frank Sinatra! During his lifetime, Ol' Blue Eyes defined the Great American Songbook for decades with verve and panache. Long acclaimed as the world's greatest performer of popular music, Sinatra is the artist who set the standard for all others to follow. Sinatra was, of course, more than a singer - he was an actor, recording artist, cabaret and concert star, radio and television personality, and, on occasion, producer, director, and conductor. "Perfectly Frank" celebrates the man and his music as well as the great composers, lyricists, and musical arrangers who put their indelible stamp on an incredible period in American musical history.
New Jersey native Dave DeLuca is an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician and recording engineer who has been performing for over 30 years. He is a member of the Songwriter's Guild of America and has had songs published by BMI. In December 2011, Dave auditioned for and won a starring role in the Count Basie Theatre's "5th Annual Sinatra Birthday Bash," beating out hundreds of other hopeful performers. He is currently overseeing production of "The Star-Spangled Songbook", a tribute to the great American composers and lyricists who crafted our body of popular standards, for a future airing on PBS.
Saturday, August 5th 2-4 pm
Join the Bucks-Mont Astronomical Association as they help us prepare for the upcoming solar eclipse, due to take place on Monday, August 21, 2017. The presenter will explain the various types of eclipses we encounter on Earth and will demonstrate how a solar eclipse occurs. We will also explore what the eclipse will be like in our area compared to other areas and discuss how our natural environment responds during a total solar eclipse. Safe solar-viewing techniques will be covered as well as how to build a safe solar viewer. This is a family friendly event! The program’s content is geared toward 4th grade through adults but younger children are welcome!
