This class is for people who have a working knowledge of basic bridge. We learn Standard American style of bridge, learning techniques of playing a hand and bidding to communicate with our partners. We concentrate on some of the basic conventions of bridge, such as: Transfers, Stayman, Weak Twos, and Takeout Doubles. We start with about 45 minutes of a lesson, and then we do assisted playing and bidding of hands. Four times a year we have a practice duplicate game to learn the procedures for playing duplicate.

This class is for people who have mastered basic bridge and the conventions taught in the Advanced Beginners Bridge Class. We concentrate on more advanced techniques for playing a hand and more advanced bidding techniques. Some of our topics have been: Negative Doubles, Special Stayman, Law of Total Tricks, Rule of 11, Responding to Weak Two Bids, Michaels, Rule of 20, Rule of 15, and Slam Bidding (Gerber and Blackwood).
We have an approximately 45 minute lesson, then we play hands and try to help each other apply the lessons we have learned.
