Amateur radio, also known as ham radio, is the use of the radio frequency spectrum for purposes of non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self-training, private recreation, radiosport, contesting, and emergency communications.
The Ann’s Choice Amateur Radio Station (ACARS) club is interested in attracting new members. If unlicensed, you can participate with a licensed member in control.
If interested in being licensed, club member will provide information on how to obtain a FCC license and assist you in the process. Free lessons are provided by nearby radio clubs.
The facilities at Ann’s Choice include digital and analog communications at all amateur frequency bands including CW, voice, message, and slow scan TV. We routinely reach amateur stations around the world including locations in Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, and Australia.
Attend one of our meetings to explore the world of amateur radio.
